Luxury Kitchen Design
Upon inheriting a 100 year old plus urban townhome, a Boomer age couple reviewed all their options and decided to totally renovate the three levels of the structure which required extensive work. Working with an architect and interior designer colleague Jennifer Grant, our goal was to create a new contemporary kitchen, three bathrooms and a powder room that would become their forever home.
Working with “good bones” of high ceilings yet with a 20’ home width size space, AElise Designs was thrilled to work with the clients to revitalize their outdated closed off previous kitchen. A wall separating the previous dining room was removed to allow for creation of a new open access kitchen and dining space. We designed and installed sleek white and light gray cabinetry slab doors featuring easy access pull out shelve base drawers, tall pantry storage, recycling center, and a doggie food storage and serving station for their fur-baby. Easy, yet beautiful quartz countertop surfacing showcases the large island which houses the modern farmhouse sink, dishwasher, storage and additional informal seating to augment dining table seating for large family gatherings.
The contemporary owners bathroom, while compact, provided enough space for a custom shower with build in seating. Visually the vanity was wall hung to provide the illusion of more space and a LED lit mirror adds an additional layer for task lighting. The homeowners desired to pay homage to the home’s vintage roots and previous owner with a traditional design aesthetic in the hall bathroom. A dark wood traditional vanity, mirror, basket weave black and white tile marble flooring, and a storage niche featuring a floral mosaic pattern honored this request.
